It could be the presentation that catapults them to new heights in the beauty industry. Twelve independent beauty brands have been chosen in a competitive pitching process to present themselves to investors and retailers at the Beauty & Money Summit in New York on September 27. They will have the opportunity to show themselves off to multinational industry leaders such as L’Oréal, J&J and Revlon as well as to financial investors such as L Catterton and Henkel Ventures.
 
Eight of the presenting companies are skincare brands showcasing the growth and opportunity within that segment of the beauty industry. The remaining four are made up equally of color cosmetics and personal care brands. Half of the brands chosen are based in New York and the other half come from other parts of the U.S.
 
Here are the 12 independent beauty brands, with a brief description of their products:

Olive + M – products are olive oil based, domestically sourced, and made with naturally grown ingredients that have felt the sun and soil.
Patchology – Patchology was formed around the idea that truly effective delivery of great skincare ingredients, on your terms, is a game changer.
Pause – Pause Well-Aging Skincare, along with their Contoura facial massage tool, alleviates the skin changes resulting from menopause.
